Big Weekend!
Hello Harvest!
I am thrilled to be back from vacation and ready to see you again this weekend. Lauren and I took the kids to Disney, so there are many tales to tell. Ellie (10) conquered her fear of roller coasters, Cassie (8) led the whole family on a bird-watching trail hike, and Jared became a Jedi (story will be told Sunday). I am definitely refreshed, kind of tan, and looking forward to being back with you.
There is much to be excited about! We have several people who will be baptized this Sunday. The baptism will happen at 10:15 down by the pool. If you attend the first service, we will all walk down together. If you attend the second service, consider coming early to see the baptisms. (Be sure to arrive at 10 so you have time to find the pool)
Also this Sunday is our 3rd annual church picnic. Fun starts at 3, food at 5. We will meet at New Beginnings Church, just across from Stagg. For those of you participating in the grill-off, there is no need to bring your grill earlier than 3pm.
See you Sunday!

Update on Shelby
Hello Church Family,
By now you should know we are all praying for the Hermosillo family. If Shelby is not at the top of your prayer list, bump her there immediately. In case you haven't heard the story, Shelby has been suffering with awful migraines for weeks on end. Doctors were testing her for everything and were starting to think she had MS. Then, last Friday, Shelby got into a head-on collision that landed her in the hospital. She is still in the hospital, suffering with 2 bulging discs in her neck and problems with her kidneys and bladder. I have an encouraging report on her progress.
The good news: They've done every test imaginable to diagnose all the problems-CAT scans, MRI's, blood tests, etc. Shelby doesn't need neck surgery. Also, doctors believe her stomach and bladder problems might have been caused by the MS medication. As for the cause of the headaches, they no longer see demyelinations on the MRI's. Demyelinations indicate MS. Shelby originally had 2 show up on an MRI, and now there are none. So, either they misread the MRI...or...! Shelby said, "They didn't have an answer for that."
The bad news: Doctors think a hormone/steroid deficiency might be contributing to the headaches. They will begin treating this instead of MS. Shelby is still incredibly weak, even unable to get out of bed and sit in a chair for long. She needs to be on bed rest for at least a week. She will also need in-home physical therapy for several weeks. And Dave needs to get back to work soon.
What is being done to help? The church will be hiring someone to house-sit/babysit/Shelby-sit for a week while Shelby recovers. Her small group has been dynamite, and they will still provide some support, but we are developing a long-term sustainable plan.
I commend all of you who visited Shelby, helped out with the kids, cleaned the house, brought meals, and prayed on her behalf. The love of Christ is on full display!
Continue to lift up Shelby and Dave in prayer. Pray for full healing, total recovery and strength throughout the process.
Serving Jesus,
Pastor Ryan

All Church Prayer Request
Hey church family,
Please take time to pray for Dave and Shelby Hermosillo today. Shelby has been struggling with chronic migraines for weeks, her son has been having seizures, and then yesterday she got into a head-on collision. She is in the hospital with 2 bulging disks in her neck. Pray for comfort, for strength, for healing and for endurance. Put the Hermosillo at the top of your prayer list this entire week.
Serving Jesus,
Pastor Ryan

Building Program Update
Dear Church Family,
I announced last Sunday that the Future Facility Team needs you to pray and fast one day this week. So far, the team has completed a church demographic survey, visited several available properties, and discussed what all our ministries would need under roof. Most of what we've accomplished so far is preliminary. But we now have our first official "lead" on a possible church home. We don't even know if it is a good lead, but before we even pick up the phone to chase it down, we want the church to pray and fast. We want God to know He is in charge of our search from the first lead until we move in to our new home.
Will you pick a day THIS WEEK, and pray for our future home? For more details, check out the latest entry in our building program blog HERE.
Serving Jesus,
Pastor Ryan
